Steeping Cottages -
The cottage is modern bungalow built on the edge of the small village of Great Steeping. The village has a School and a Church. The village was home to RAF Spilsby during the Second World War, parts of which can still be seen nearby. The nearest pub (which also serves food) is 2 miles and the nearest shops are in Spilsby.
The nearest town is Spilsby, which is three miles away. It was granted its market charted in 1301 and still hosts a bustling market each Monday. The church contains several noted 14th to 16th century tombs. The town’s most famous son was Sir John Franklin, the Arctic exploder who discovered the north West Passage. A fine bronze statue of him now dominates the west market place.
