



The cottage is located on the edge of the small village of Great Steeping. The village has a School, Church, Methodist Chapel and the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre horse sanctuary. The village was home to RAF Spilsby during the Second World War, the remains of which can still be seen. The nearest pub is 2 miles and the nearest shops are in Spilsby three miles away.
The market town of Spilsby on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds was granted its market charter in 1301 and still hosts a bustling market and auction each Monday. Spilsby church contains several noted 14th to 16th century tombs. The town’s most famous son was Sir John Franklin, the Arctic explorer. A fine bronze statue of him
dominates the market place.


The east coast resort of Skegness is only 12 miles from the cottage, with its award winning beach. It offers many attractions including amusements, pier, gardens, fun fairs, Butlins holiday camp, bowling, swimming pools, cinemas, theatres, shops, bars and nightclubs.
As well as the traditional seaside resorts there is also the rural coast. These areas of undisturbed coastline offer wildlife, bird watching, walks and peace and quite.

You will also find picturesque villages and historic market towns, including Louth and Horncastle. The area has a rich heritage ranging from pre historic settlements, ancient churches and buildings to industrial heritage. Lincolnshire has a strong connection with the RAF and is rich with site of aviation heritage and aircraft museums. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and
the Red Arrows are both based in the county.
